Epic is a free online reading platform program with thousands of books for your scholar to choose from during school hours, as well as outside of them! Scholars will have full access to Epic's library, known as Epic School, from 6am – 3pm from any location.

Can you get Epic unlimited for free?

Epic has two subscription levels. They have a free version, which is nice for testing the reading app out but is limited in how many books you can read and how long you can read with it per week (2 hours). Otherwise, Epic Unlimited will cost you $7.99 per month, or $71.99 per year if you pre-pay.

When you log into Epic on the web or from your mobile device, you can find your class code on the Dashboard tab. Your class code is an auto-generated 7-character alphanumeric password that is completely unique to you and your students!

Why do teachers use Epic?

Epic! is also a great tool for developing students' fluency. When they listen to books read aloud on Epic!, they're hearing strong fluency modeled. Then students can read the SAME book a couple of times (clicking through the pages without turning the audio on). Rereading the same text repeatedly builds fluency.
