Is Origin being deleted?

Origin is a digital distribution platform developed by Electronic Arts for purchasing and playing video games. In October 2022, Origin ceased operations for its Windows platform, directing players to EA Play. The Mac and mobile versions remain online.

Is the EA app replacing Origin?

No. The games you've downloaded through Origin should be ready to launch through the EA app. If you find any of your games, DLC or other content missing from the EA app, please contact us so we can help resolve the issue.

Why was Origin deleted?

This issue is quite likely to be due to your antivirus software. Origin is updated regularly and each time this happens, your antivirus does not see or know that the updated Origin is the same as the previous one. Origin needs to be re-added to your antivirus 'whitelist' each time an update to Origin occurs.

Will EA stop using Origin?

What happened to all my Origin games?

Click on EA Account and Billing, then Order History. Check the order status there. If it's still processing, you'll get your game when it's completed. If your order is not showing, then you may have bought the game on another account.

Will I still have my games if I delete Origin?

The uninstallation of the Origin client will not remove local save game files and will certainly not delete online saves. You will be completely safe!
