Is the ring ok for 12 year old?

I recently watched this with my 12 year old kid and he loved this movie. It had nothing bad in it, there was no sex/nudity, no F-words or any other extreme language, no drugs, no gore, but lots of terror. It was really scary for a PG-13 movie but it had nothing bad in it, just scary. 5 people found this helpful.

Parents need to know that The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a classic fantasy that's full of violence and danger, including death. Horrific medieval-esque creatures kill, mostly with arrows and swords. More often, though, they get impaled, decapitated, dismemebered themselves.

There is not a whole lot of swearing in the actual material from Tolkien, as well as the movies themselves. Samwise may have uttered a "drafted" and dwarves and elves have their own colloquialisms, so there aren't really swears in the actual lexicon...

Is Ring 2 Scarier than Ring 1?

The sequel makes a valiant effort at scary storytelling, but it suffers by comparison. On it goes, albeit in a somewhat trance-like state. The Ring Two has a great deal of mood and there are some genuinely chilling moments, but weak characters sap it of all strength. Scarier than the first, but not as interesting.
