Why can't i save BioShock 1 remastered?

If you received the message while playing Bioshock 1: "Could not save progress because there is not enough space remaining in Application Save Data. Please delete Application Save Data in order to create more saves." but have plenty of hard drive space, this is the fix I found to work.
