Why did they get rid of planets from Destiny 2?

They removed a lot of content due to them not wanting the game to be like MW and be over an insane amount of hard drive space. Granted that be planets that have no real purpose. Nothing that makes sense, they had a game with loads of content they had built up over the last 3 years.
