Resident EvilLorewise, they dont get bitten at all. Because it's gameplay. They're not supossed to get bitten plot-wise, nor to heal their wounds with herbs either. Characters do get infected when they're bitten in cutscenes/FMVs, because that's something actually happening in the game script.
