Today we celebrate the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC! Like the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered released earlier this year, this has been a close collaboration with Insomniac Games
Insomniac Games, Inc. is an American video game developer based in Burbank, California and a studio of PlayStation Studios. It was founded in 1994 by Ted Price as Xtreme Software, and was renamed Insomniac Games a year later.
Like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man is also available on PC. It means that Spider-Man is not PlayStation-exclusive anymore. The original game was released on PS4 in 2018, while its remastered version was released in 2022 for PS5.
Developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel, and optimized for PC by Nixxes Software, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on PC introduces an experienced Peter Parker who's fighting big crime and iconic villains in Marvel's New York.
The PC version of Spider-Man: Miles Morales supports improved features over the PS5 version, though they can be quite demanding and require reasonably capable hardware. This includes graphical options for higher quality ray-traced reflections and the brand new addition of ray-traced shadows.
Spider-Man [PC] vs Spider-Man [PS5] | Direct Comparison
Should I buy Spider-Man Remastered on PC?
Absolutely. Marvel's Spider-Man, like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn before it, is exceptionally well optimized for PC. While you'll need a beefy setup with an RTX 3080 and latest-gen i7 processor to get the full 4K @ 60 FPS experience, even a toaster will run it on the lowest settings.
PC doesn't make you choose as long you have powerful enough hardware. That hardware is expensive, but the option is there. In 2022, we'd recommend most people seek out a PS5. It'll save you a lot of money, and you'll get an excellent gaming experience for years to come.
Marvel's Spider-Man will launch for PC with a ton of new visual enhancements, and will also include the full main story and "The City That Never Sleeps" DLC pack. Pre-orders are now live via Steam and The Epic Games Store for $59.99 USD / £49.99 GBP.
While Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales have both been released for PS4, PS5, and PC, Spider-Man 2 will be launching exclusively on PS5. However, given Sony's recent uptick in its PC launches, I'm guessing that patient PC gamers will be able to play Spider-Man 2 on their own rig at some point down the line.
If you want to play your PS5 games on a desktop or laptop, you can stream them using the PS Remote Play app. Download the app for Windows(Opens in a new window) or Mac(Opens in a new window), install it, then log into your PSN account. It will then search for all PlayStation consoles available for streaming.
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on PC adds new features to the game, many of which will make the game look even better on PC than it did on PS5. Other than these new graphical features, though, there isn't much more to justify another purchase of the game, especially with a full $60 price tag.
But if these games are already in your library, then you don't need to worry; because they're still just as playable as they were before. There is no official word yet regarding the removal. But digital games being pulled off from stores is nothing new to the industry; it happens mainly due to license expiries.
Well the title pretty much sums it up, why was this game removed from the steam store suddenly? Because activision lost the license and the same will happen to the rest of their Marvel games(MUA 1 and 2) until the end of the year.
The 13-year-old biracial teenage son of an African-American father and a Puerto Rican mother, he is the second Spider-Man to appear in Ultimate Marvel, an imprint with a separate continuity from the mainstream Marvel Universe called the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610).
After staying exclusive to the PlayStation platform for four years, developer Insomniac Games is bringing the Spider-Man game to the PC platform, albeit with some touch-ups. The game will be released on August 12 on PC and can be purchased via Steam as well as Epic Games store.
Spider-Man on PC will unlock at 4pm BST on 12th August for players in the UK. This means that, in central Europe, the game will become available at 5pm CEST. Over in the USA, you'll be able to swing into Spider-Man on your computer at 8am PDT or 11am EDT.
It's quite the challenge for the 17-year-old teenager who is still in high school and figuring out what his place is as a superhero. While Miles is not yet a seasoned crime fighter, he is starting to find his own rhythm and style.
These specs are almost equal to that of the Radeon RX 6700 10 GB graphics card, currently available for around $350 in the market. However, the PS5's GPU is slightly slower than the RX 6700. In fact, it matches the RTX 2080 or the RTX 3060 Ti in terms of processing power.
PS5 games will run at a variety of framerates, including 60fps (See Also: Will PS5 Games Be 60 Frames-Per-Second?). However, Sony's new-gen system also supports 120fps, so we've compiled a list of all PS5 games running at 120fps as part of our PS5 guide.
